The Arctis Nova 5X combines wireless gaming across Xbox, PC, PlayStation, Switch and mobile devices with 100+ game audio presets in the companion app.
Its key draw is flexibility: use 2.4GHz for gaming, then switch to Bluetooth for a call or other media.
It suits players who want one headset for several gaming platforms and value a large battery capacity, app presets and on-headset controls.
The retractable microphone, ChatMix and call notifications also support a setup that moves between gaming and mobile listening, although microphone quality in noisy or windy settings should be checked if calls are a priority.

Who Should Buy Arctis Nova 5X?
Good fit
Choose the Arctis Nova 5X if you move among supported gaming platforms and want a single headset that can switch from 2.4GHz game audio to Bluetooth listening.
The companion app's 100+ presets add an option for tailoring audio to supported games.
It is also a sensible fit for players who prefer fewer charging interruptions: the battery is rated for 60 hours, and a 15-minute USB-C fast charge provides six hours of use.
Treat those figures as planning guidance for your own volume and use pattern.
The retractable mic, mute and volume controls, plus ChatMix, make the headset's controls relevant to gaming and mobile calls.
Buyers who make many calls in noisy surroundings should check whether the mic suits that environment before relying on it.
Who should skip it
Look elsewhere if active noise cancellation is a must-have for blocking distractions while gaming; the Arctis Nova 5X focuses on presets, multi-platform wireless use and switching between 2.4GHz and Bluetooth.
It may not fit buyers whose main requirement is a proven microphone for outdoor calls, since the available mic detail describes its retractable design and audio format but does not establish wind-call results.
Check performance for that use before choosing it.
Arctis Nova 5X: Wireless Gaming and Everyday Flexibility
Switching between game and mobile audio
Quick-Switch is a practical design choice for players who also use a phone for calls or media.
It toggles between 2.4GHz gaming and Bluetooth 5.3 at a button press, and call notifications can alert you while a game is running. That combination reduces the need to treat gaming and phone listening as separate headset roles.
Presets offer a route to game-specific tuning
The companion app offers 100+ presets for named games, giving players a ready starting point for different titles.
Presets are a customization feature rather than proof of better sound or a guaranteed competitive advantage, so their value depends on whether you want to adjust settings by game.
Battery and quick charging
The 60-hour battery rating is useful for estimating how often charging may fit into a routine, while the USB-C charge feature offers six hours of use after 15 minutes.
Actual time between charges will depend on use, so buyers who need a precise schedule should leave room for their own listening habits.
Controls and microphone use
Power, mute, volume, ChatMix and Quick-Switch are available on the headset, and the microphone retracts into the headset when you do not need it.
That makes the control layout relevant to frequent gaming and calls, but a mic's stated audio format alone cannot predict how it will handle wind or background noise.
